How Inquiries Are Shared With Partner Institutions
This section describes the core function of our program, so please read it carefully.
When you submit an inquiry through the Site, you are asking us to connect you with educational programs, and we act on that request. We provide your inquiry record, which may include your name, contact information, program of interest, educational background, membership affiliation, and related details, to the accredited institution or institutions whose programs match your request, and to service providers that support those institutions' enrollment operations. Those institutions and their service providers use your information to contact you about their programs, consistent with the consent you provided when you submitted your inquiry. We deliver your inquiry record only at your direction, to fulfill the request you made.
We receive compensation from partner institutions in connection with inquiries we deliver to them. This compensation is how our program is funded and does not change how your information is handled.
If you change your mind, you may ask us at any time to stop delivering your inquiry record to partner institutions by contacting us at privacy@edutrustnetwork.org or (513) 518-7824. We will honor your request going forward. Requests about information already held by a partner institution should be directed to that institution, though we will forward your request as described in "If You Do Not Enroll" below.
Once a partner institution receives your inquiry record, its use of your information is governed by that institution's own privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any institution you engage with.
We do not knowingly deliver the inquiry record of anyone under 16 years of age to a partner institution.
If You Do Not Enroll
Submitting an inquiry does not obligate you to enroll anywhere. If you do not enroll, your information remains subject to this Privacy Policy, and we may continue to contact you about your education benefit, program options, and other membership benefits, consistent with your consent and your communication preferences, until you opt out. Partner institutions that received your inquiry record may also retain and use your information under their own privacy policies, and requests regarding information they hold should be directed to them. We will pass along opt-out requests we receive to any partner institution to which we delivered your inquiry within the preceding 6 months.
Other Disclosures of Information
We may share Personal Information with service providers that perform functions on our behalf, such as website hosting, customer relationship management, email delivery, analytics, and enrollment support services. These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us and must protect its confidentiality.
We may also disclose Personal Information: (i) as permitted or required by law; (ii) in connection with a corporate transaction such as a sale, merger, reorganization, financing, dissolution, or bankruptcy, in which case your information may be transferred as a business asset subject to the promises in this Privacy Policy; (iii) where we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the safety of any person or the security of our services; (iv) to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be violating our policies or agreements; or (v) as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you with third parties for any lawful purpose.
